The tins are similar looking, someone at their warehouse probaly made a mistake and shipped you the wrong thing. Don't worry about it and give them a call, their customer service is very well regarded and you should have no problems.
I think giving up ordering from them is gonna hurt you in the long run since they do a lot to keep their customers happy. This same thing cant be said for some other vendors around *cough* sportsmansguide *cough*.

I have never had any problems with AIM Surplus. So I would Call AIM, tell them what you got and it is not what you paid for

Deal with them twice a year at minimum no issues yet. Call and they will correct it I'm certain.

Everyone makes mistakes. It is what you do when you make one of those mistakes that determines your character.
I trust they'll make it right. AIM has a great reputation and my personal experience with them has always been quite positive. |

I like to get what I pay for also. And, I am not making excuses for AIM. However the Russian is still great ammo, and I prefer it to the Bulgarian. I think its more consistant,
and seems more accurate, although the differance is slight. The date made would mean nothing to me, as sealed in the tins, it is good for many more years. |

AIM is awesome. DO NOT STOP ordering from them just because of this small issue, and you didn't even give them the chance to fix it yet.
Once they packed a crate of 54r and 2 small cardboard boxes of the POF .303 in one big cardboard box. well, the 54r crate slid over and smashed the boxes of POF to bits, a couple rounds got screwed up. They sent me another box of .303. Happy camper here.

Does AIM even have the Russian surplus 5.45x39? I've never seen it there.

we have it now, thought we ordered Bulgarian but when it came in, SUPRISE! its Russian, but no worry, the Russian stuff is great! |

Wow dude, relax, AIM is one of the most stand up companies here. Sometimes companies make mistakes. Do you need someone to call EMS for you?

They've been good. Offered to ship it back but I need it for a party this weekend. Maybe I got a little excited. I apologize. I had a couple of friends who had problems with AIM and one is an FFL. It's just that I will buy Russian surplus from Rguns b/c it's cheaper overall when you buy 2 tins by almost $20. At least is is right now. I know the russian stuff is good, but an email or a phone call when they discovered that all they had was Russian would have been nice. Especially when Bulgarian is what I ordered. Brian was nice and apologized and offered to have it shipped back. I'll order again I'm sure.

Glad that you guys got it figures out and all is well. BRIAN - Will you be getting more Bulgarian 5.45 soon? I have several cases of the Bulgarian, and I'd like to add some more to by "Just in Case the Democrats Win" stash. BIGGER_HAMMER

Both are great at 12-15 cents a round, but I got more consistant velocities (maybe better accuracy) with the 90's Bulgy than the 70's Russian, FWIW. Probably varies from lot to lot.

Roger that, for me too. But as cheap as 5.45mm surplus is right now, if Bulgarian is drying up the Russki isn't a bad second choice. |

The exact same thing happened to me. 30 minutes ago I opened the tin of 5.45x39 ammo from AIM and saw the 77 stamped on the case head and deduced that its the Russian stuff even thought I ordered Bulgarian. I'll give it a try and if I like it, I'll buy from R guns next time. I like AIM, but it's all about economics!

I order from 2 places. Aim and Ammunitiontogo.com. SO if want to not order from AIM go ahead. That just leaves me more 5.45 to order. Which reminds me.
