One of my Romy G kits has the collar off the recoil spring assembly. The moveable guide rod is split at one end. Is this broken, or how it is supposed to be? How can I reassemble it? (I didn't see any obvious way but maybe I'm not understanding how it goes together).

No, its not broke. It is split on one end to fit in the two holes on the collar. I don't take mine apart enough to have discovered an easy way to assemble.

Ridiculous--I messed with this for a long time trying to figure out what holds the separated ends in the collar. Even tried soldering. But when you put the SPRING on, the sprng holds the ends in the collar.

Man, do I feel dumb.

Something tells me you're not the only one who's seen that. Glad I got to read about it before experiencing it.
