Any one know the shortest barrel length that will allow standard handguards (its gonna be a 74 barrel if that helps). I will also be using a Bulgarian gas block front site like the one below

i think about 10 in
you can drop another 1/2 or so if you go with a krink fsb |

FUCK I have two 9 1/2" 74 barrels and thats what I was afraid of. |

I saw one guy who put the handguard retainer in front of the gas block and front sight and was able to use a standard handguard with a barrel that was about 7 1/2".
Then just thread the barrel instead of using the Bulgarian gas block. |

ok heres what ya do
cut your retainer in 1/2 and weld it back togeter in the backside in the oppsite direction so the lever flips up to lock that will give you an extra 3/4 or so i think your fsb will work then you might hang off alittle in the front not shure |
