from what i understand i will need to file down the ejector. do i need to heat treat the ejector after?

negative, just file so bolt cycles smoothly. all recievers require some adjusting so it will cycle smoothly.  Dont need to RE heat treat after filing.

It's been recommended that you re-heat the ejectors if you file alot off, but I hardly think many do..including myself.  I haven't seen any ill-affects of not having done so.
