Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Parkerizing after riveting

For those of you that rivet before you parkerize:

- Do you parkerize the entire barrel?  If so do you plug the ends?

- Has anyone ever used a pipe, lowered just the reciever and trunnion into the park solution and left the barrel suspended above?

I've got a Yugo underfolder that's been riveted, but I want to park it before I paint it.

If the barrel is other than Yuogoslavian, I don't bother plugging it....parkerizing will not adhere to the chrome......in your case, I'd plug it....

If you are parking a Yugo rifle make sure you plug both ends of the barrel AND the gasblock.
