Well, here it is.  Made my own jigs and stuff.  No press, no spot welder.  I just made do with what I had.  What do ya think?

Goes to show, with a little resourcefulness, one can make an excellent looking build.  No need for expensive toolings and such.  Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback.  here's what I got in it.

romy kit-dpharms
tapco flat
tapco rivets
g2 fcg
k-var us stock set

TOOLS

$30 in steel for the jigs
had a old set of bolt cutters for the rivet tool
110v flux core mig welder (borrowed)
big vice
hand tools

I will post pics of the jigs if anyone is interested.  Mine are a little different than others I've seen.  I made them with a angle grinder and an arc welder.  They seem to work ok.

Looks good.  Hope my first one turns out that nice.

How does it shoot?

It shoots real well.  I put about 100 rounds through it and it didn't jam once.  I fed it will three different mags to make sure it was gonna work good.  It even liked the drum mag.  My mak90 will jam every once in a while with the drum mag.  100 rounds isn't alot yet but so far, so good.

How did you mount the rails for the bolt carrier ? I also do not have a spot welder so I would like to know.

P.S. Your wife looks like 10-12 in the state pen...  J/K She is very cute ....  21 ?

I drilled holes in the receiver and in the rails and plug welded it with a 110v flux core mig welder.  I tried a test piece first just drilling the reciever but I couldn't get enough penetration.   The receiver holes were .25 and the rail holes were .125.  After that I dremel tooled it smooth.  I got the Idea from a guy on here or one of the other ak forums.  I put a punch against the end of the rail and hit it pretty hard and it didn't give.  You can look inside at the holes in the rails to see how good a bite you got.

You are making my wifes day.  Keep guessing

Hey Hellbilly?

Let me know how it works when your wife finds out that we all have been guessing her age ranging from 15 to 25, and you were like "you are way off",  "gosh, try again", "try again, you are getting closer"!

I personally would have lied on my wife's behalf and said "Yep, she is 25, good job guys!"  (btw, my wife is 30-*cough* sumthin'.

Anyhoo!  Your wife is 27... that is my final answer!

Don't worry about me guys. She's not sensitive about it.   I'll end it right now.  She's 28.  we can't go anywhere without her getting carded or old ladys throwing death stares at me like I'm some kind of pedophile.  Oh, we have two kids too.  She says she hates getting carded all the time, but we all know she loves it.
