I personally sandblasted, parkerized, and gun koted mine.  They look awesome.

I've seen others using Krylon or High temp spray paint, gun kote, etc.

I've been using Dupli-Color High Temp Engine paint #1200 from my local WalMart store.  I was originally going to use Brownell's Alumahyde II spray, but read how so many here have had success with the Dupli-Color.  So far, I've done 4 kits with them and they seem to be holding up just fine.  Of course, I haven't had the chance to do a range visit with the rifles yet...gotta wait for this snow to let up.

krylon bbq paint (holds up alittle better to solvents)
2 cans brake cleaner
rubber gloves

hang parts and spray them with both cans of cleaner BOTH
who cares how clean you think they are afer 1/3 can use it all
dont forget your gloves the cleaner soaks right threw your skin and will make you loopy for hours

heat parts to 350 or so in oven (will burn off any leftover oil)
let cool to 150-200

rehang and paint with bbq paint
1 nice even coat
not thin not thick

cook at 400-425 for hour and 15 or till it stops smoking whatevers last
let it totaly cool befor you touch

and your done

I use a marksalot or sharpie, whichever is handier at the time.

I heat the parts then hit them with this:

After I paint them with the DeRusto and they are dry/cool I wipe them down with an oiled rag.  When I am done they look like this:

Good enough for me.
