Just completed a AMD-65 build using 3/16" rivets.  I have a source incredibly reasonable.  The heads are a bit larger in diameter than standard AK style but still look good.  Anyone out there have a build from 3/16" rivets?

ref.  The rear tang/trunion rivets are exactly the length needed.  The trigger gd. rivets required a small amount of trimming.  The front trunion rivets same-same.

I kinda like the 3/16" idea as the rivets are a bit larger in diameter don't know if this matters from standpoint of strength but I sleep a bit better.  BTW.  Thanks go out to SOCANDYMAN for his post on rear trunion/tang riveting.

I  only use 3/16 on rear trunion.

5/32 still work best for everything else... IMHO
