is it much harder then a standard AK?  or would i be better off just to buy one?

if your talking about the PSL, I`ve done a few, there straight foward, rivet pattern in the front same as the yugo

Very easy, took me a couple (maybe 2) hours to do mine.  Unless you have the kit already, just buy one outright, it's just as cheap.  The kits are impossible to find now anyway, maybe some more will be showing up.  S.O.G. has completed Romak IIIs for $495.  Considering the kit is $300 and the receiver is $150.....
