Got the receiver Friday and I am finished this evening.  The DCI receiver is great. The holes lined up 99% and only required a slight bit of filing. Saved an great deal of time.
I need to touch up the cold blue on some of the "kit" parts, but overall I think it turned out well. US=fcg, rec, mag follower/floor plate.

Looks beautiful.  These are the receivers Harlan is selling, right?  What method of riveting did you use?

Its a DCI (Harlan's) receiver.  I used a plinker jig and it is not designed for the rpk trunion. The bucks don't sit flat because of the bulge. So taking extra care to line it up as to not set the rivet crooked.
The rear pistol grip tang does not fit the trigger jig I have either. I had to do some improvising there as well. But overall I am happy, I need to take it to shoot along with the two others I have built and not yet shot. Hopefully this weekend.

Here is a pic of my M92 with a new product prototype Fake suppressor from Ak-Builder.  Reciever is one of Curtis' underfolder flats that worked out perfectly. Grip is from Midwest Armory. G2 Double hook trigger, Home grown Gas piston, and steel US mag followers from Ak-Builder. On the plinker jig issue for the rivets, Curt also has a solution for that.

Did you use one of Curtis' polish underfolder flats on that or did he do a different one for that specific build?

He has one specifically designed for the M92.  He used mine as a guide.  I'm not sure he has them listed on his site yet.  If you drop him a line, I'm sure he will shoot you a price.  Great product!

Same as I use for all my builds.  KG Gunkote.  Done right, it is the best gun finish on the market today.  Coppied by many, duplicated by none.  IMHO

anyone know where I can get a good scaled layout for a fixed Yugo? Or a CAD file?

The finish I used on mine was a cold blue made by Armadillo Blue (or similar) it does have a very slight bit of splotching if you look very close but the color and match turned out pretty damn close.

thanks
am i off in my thinking or will these work for an RPK?
Link Posted: 9/20/2005 6:31:29 AM EDT
[#20]
My thought initially was to modify a full stock version by adding the 6* cut back to it by welding. Although he is in the process of final production of an RPK receiver. He actually has my kit to take engineering measurements from. So it should fit my kit great....
He said maybe another month or so.

go to picyard.com or any where you can host images. then obtain the link of the image and paste it into the box that opens up when you hit the little yellow box with the mountains in it. It's real easy.

Nice one.  Oh wait. Thats what to say when someone farts.  er Nice Yugo!  So nice, I saved copies of the big pics to my hard drive.  Ordered my DCI receivers last week. I can barely wait after seeing yours.   Yugos have character.

I forgot to give the range report from Sunday. I took it out with 103 clone to do some testing.
The Yugo site was dead nuts on. It functioned flawlessly everytime. I shot maybe 200 rounds thru it. The barrel bore has a bit of wear on the muzzle end that I attribute to sloppy cleaning practices. It was as accurate as any of my 7.62's and felt more stable with the heavy barrel and heavy receiver. Overall I am very satisfied with it and if those new kits hit I will be getting one of those, probably a full stock version... Here's a pic right before I left. I had to take the 5.45 for the GF to shoot. She doesn't like recoil. The 103 needs some front site adjustment shoots left.
