Rear trunnion holes don't line up with the reciever holes. There is a good 1/2 inch difference. I thought it was the reciever but holes are in the same place as my other assembled AK. I have a bulgarian parts kit and a vulcan reciever stamped 7.62 X 39 and the kit is for 5.45. That shouldn't be the problem. The rear trunnion just looks longer than it should be. What to do?

Its the simple fact that the Bulgarian trunnion is different. The Vulcan receiver is cut for standard 47 trunnions. The easy fix is to buy a new trunnion.

Sorry, but that is a problem.
The 47 ejector is shorter than a 74 ejector.
You will need to build it up with a mig welder then trim to fit.

Not just the bulgy's, all 74's are different than 47's.
Top hole location is the same, the lower is different

It's not a problem on a Vulcan. You have to trim them down for the 47. This way the receiver can be used for either build.

I thought the vulcan universal receivers had no caliber designation on them?
Or am I thinking of someone else's?

I've personally built 4 guns on Vulcan receivers.

If it says 7.62, then the ejector is short enough for a 7.62 and too short for a 5.56.

To the best of my knowledge, they don't make a 'universal' receiver

I've built seven on "7.62" Vulacan receivers and all but the 74 had to be filed down.

So can I just get a romanian rear trunnion or do I just get a reciever marked 5.45?

I just checked their site.
They still offer a universal 47/74 receiver, but only for the underfolder.
It appears that they no longer offer the universal in a fixed stock design.

I just had my Bulgarian 74 built on a 7.62 marked Vulcan receiver. You just need to get a standard trunnion. The Romanian will work.
