I am in the same boat, in my area there are no dealer who are reasonable about doing transfers, and many who will do transfers somewhat reasonably are not willing to do transfers on anything that even smells like it may one day have a pistol grip. None of the dealers at the local show sell AK recievers, even up in Atlanta the only dealer who had AK recievers of any kind was selling prebent blanks for a hundred dollars. I am seriously thinking about getting an FFL and doing nothing but transfers, I am just not sure if that is legal, I know that there are many FFLs whose primary business is transfers, but what I would wnat to is is almost strictly transfers. The storefront isn't a problem, I have a found a very inexpensive solution that would give me a permanent storefront that conforms to local business zoning and liscensing codes and laws, is not  located in a residential neighbor hood, and all of that. My only concerne is whether the BATFE would have a problem wiht a part time FFL who works as more of a buyers club than a hunting rifle salesman.

What I have in mind is to set it up, where customer have a choice of paying a certain amount (I would have to figure out exactly what my expenses would be per year), for a membership that gets them all of the transfers they want at noaditional charge or fee outside of the cost of the gun, and shipping and maybe Nics fee, or pyaing like between $10 and $20 dollars for an order (say ten bucks each per reciever or gun for the first two, then any additional are free), same deal with fees fro NICs checks, Here in GA it seems like I have always had to pay for it, whereas in NC it was done at no charge.

Any FFLs or those experienced with FFLs have any input into this idea?
