Thinking of getting a K-Var kit to do a build. It would be my first build and I have a minimum of building tools. Do the K-Var kits come with the barrels already pressed into the trunion, or would I need to do that?

If you mean their current batch of AK74 kits then yes, the trunion is already on the barrel.  Can't say for any of their Krinkov or other kits...

I was looking at the AK74 kits. Also, since the barrels are already pressed would I still need to check headspace?

Still wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm sure the head space would be fine, but do you trust your face to a Bulgarian you've never met?

Here's my K-Var kits:

They appear to be unfired, and all numbers match.  They basically cut up a brand new gun.  Headspacing will almost certainly be perfect, but that kind of advice usually isn't well taken here.   Be ghetto and fire it with a string on the trigger, or check the headspacing.
