I was going to replace the gas piston on my Polish kit with a US model but I found a crack..
It is a very small hair line crack that runs from the front of the push pin that holds the piston in place clear to the piston only on one side of the bolt carrier.. When I exert side ways presser on the piston the crack does not seem to open up or move at all.. I was wondering if I should just leave this piston in place and shoot it the way it is or should I remove and replace the piston and grind and wield the crack? Thanks for any help this is my first build and I want it safe of course.

I'm surprised you havn't got a reply to this yet
I don't have a cracked carrier.  If I did I would investigate a welding fix: what kind of weld, what heat, what depth and all the those other things that  are known only by the Masters  of the Flame.
