Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which finishes match the Bulgarian finish best?

I'm setting up for a build and want it up and running by next weekend. Anyone know which finishes match the finish on current Bulgarian parts-kits?
I'm currently considering GunKote, on just the receiver (for now, atleast), and want to know how well it would match up with the rest of the gun.

Or would it be better to just gunkote over the entire weapon and be done with it?

I did that very thing on my build.. I painted the receiver, then assembled..

I use Low Gloss Black Duplicolor and when it was all put together, it really looked good, except I scratched it during riveting... Oh well..

If you really want an outstanding "paint job" on your AK, I'd recommend sending it to Chris Butler @ AK-USA Manufacturing.  His website doesn't show the new finish he's using, but it is absolutely awesome!
