bead blast and degrease your parts carefully. polish all steel to suit the surface finish you desire.

buy your chemicals/solutions from brownells and buy a stainless steel pan large enough to hold the largest parts you will be blueing. buy a candy thermometer, also.

your solution can be heated on your stove top...but make sure your wife isn't around. blueing vapors are corrossive, so outdoors blueing is best...perhaps using your gas grill as a heat source.

once the blueing solution is up to temperature (follow directions that come with the solution) you just submerge the parts for a few minutes...remove, move any sight slides or movable parts on the rifle to another position to expose any unblued areas and submerge again for a few minutes.

remove from tank and nuetralized parts in the process killing solution...i also wash my parts in shop 600, then oil up with wd-40.
