I need some input concerning US compliance parts for my AK74 kit. I plan on getting the following parts:

1) H,T,& S Joeken or Global Traders (Are the Ak47 and Ak74 triggers the same?)

2) Gas Piston from Tapco or Global Trades(Are the AK 47 and AK74 Pistons the same?)

3)OOW Receiver

4) Rivets Global Trades (Sizes?)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I got the polymer kit and these are the parts I bought also.

themadhatter, once you get your '74 assembled, make sure to post pics, I am waiting to see a wood stocked '74 that is in one piece.

I have two of the wood stock Bulgy kits.  I'm planning on using FEG receivers, based on the reports of problems with both the OOW and Hesse receivers.  I have one FSE HTS on hand, but will look at using the Red Star HTS for the other.  I'll probably use the RPB fake folder, KVAR US PG and a US piston to round it out, and retain the Bulgy upper and lower handguards.

Omar, I've been looking for a FEG receiver for a Krink build. Is the FEG receiver available in a 5.45 or is it only in 7.62? Anyone have a link for them?

I think they are the same from Tapco and Global Trades. If there is a difference between a '74 piston and a '47 piston, it's only the length ('47 pistons being a bit longer). I haven't heard about anybody's piston needing milling, so I guess they are interchangable.

Mbsk01,
recognize the FSB?

Well, I wanted to see an assembled Bulgarian kit w/the wood furniture. Is that what yours is?? How the hell could I recognize the FSB when the sling is blocking it??

I received my 74 kit today and also noticed that my Bulgy SLR piston was longer than the 74 as well.

I assume that either the Global Trades or Tapco gas pistons must be good to go. Right?
