So I bought one of those US made Bulgarian side folders from Kvar. I figured it might work on a build i'm doing. WRONG! the mounting block thing makes the triangle stock stick out an inch farther than the receiver. plus it weighs a ton. The block that attaches to a fixed stock trunnion is just a huge lead weight. So since prices are crazy high on the Russ/Bulgy sf stocks, I decided it's time to make my own.
The triangle folder from the Kvar unit is decent, just need to remove a latch point that is welded to the hinge end. (on the US model, the forward latch is located in the trunnion block) I used a Romy fixed stock trunnion as my donor, and bits and pieces of the Kvar unit. It's far from finished but I think it's on the way to being a usable stock. I'm hoping to have it finished in the next few days (if time permits).  I'm anxious to put it side by side with a real Bulgy sf I have built on a G kit, for comparison.

I like it. It reminds me of one of a true Kyber Pass built side folder. One where they are missing some of parts so they just made their own.
