I’ve responded quite often in the past that this is my main reason for a quick shot of BF Powder Blast or Brake Cleaner down the gas tube. Some might consider it an unnecessary step, but it’s a personal preference and a step that I like to take.

Ever seen that green goo that sometimes forms on the inside of your FH? That’s copper residue reacting with residual bore solvent from cleaning. I like to think I’m preventing that from forming in my rifles gas system.

Again, you might think this is an unnecessary step, but it’s a 3 second step in my cleaning procedure that I’m willing to take.
