Anyone know if the Colt armorer's course offers a tool kit at the class?  This would be for the department or the armorer's personal use.

Great question.  I am headed to the class in April.

I've never seen a single tool kit with all the essentials included. They always have junk you don't need, and lack other things that make the job easier. It's best to pick and choose tools.

I attended an armorer's course taught by Sully, as I'm non LE (which excludes you from the Colt Course.) We had many police officers in Sully's course who had also taken the Colt course. I took note of what tools we used in class, and even stayed after class to ask Sully why he chose what brands of tools he did. He stated that he's tried about everything out there, then chose only the best for his course. I almost bought a "pre-fab" armorer's tool kit before the class -- now I'm glad I didn't waste my money.
