Has anyone ever seen one of these one piece gas rings? Do they even exist? I have never heard of one, but I had a customer ask for one today. Any help would be, well, helpful

I have 3 running on select fire M4's now and they seem to run well with no problems.

You never have to worry about the gas ring gaps lining up.

Absolutely run them on all my guns.
Prevents you from misaligning the gas rings and the resultant function problems. Cheap insurance. Well worth, would definitely not classify as a solution for non-existent problem. A very real problem and a very nice solution. |

Highly unlikely. The fact that gas piston uppers work (which have no gas being fed into the bolt) pretty much debunks this. Gas rings are no more than bearing surfaces in piston uppers. Thats not to say that the locking lugs won't wear faster due to the lack of forward "push" that the gas rings would normaly provide. But that's another thread.

If the gaps in the 3 gas rings cause short stroking when aligned in a particular rifle, you've got a bigger problem that needs attention.

I've got one in my rifle, but it's one of those "just in case" things like a D-fender and anti-walk pins. I've never had a problem with standard rings, but if the one piece rings might help keep me from having a problem when I actually need it to work, it's worth the couple bucks.
