Solvents to use with Chrome Lining?

Just wonder if there is a "Best" bore solvent for use with chrome lined barrels - I know you are supposed to avoid the amonia based ones.

Should I consider something like Ed's Red?

Shooters Choice is what I have used in my chrome and non-chrome lined barrels for years.

What can you use on copper then in a chrome bore? I used Sweets in a few chrome bores and it seem to have worked and no damage to the gun.

I thought Hoppes #9 had ammonia which is bad for chrome lining.

MPro-7 user here. And CLP.

I read in the Bushmaster Tech Info that they recommend CLP to clean the barrels. It also said that the ammonia in Sweet's cleaning solvent will not harm the chrome lining of the barrel, but long exposure will damage the receiver's finish.

I clean my barrel with Break Free, and I'm happy with it.

Have you ever wondered why Military issue M-16's have very little, if any, blueing on them? It's because young joe's decided to use carb cleaner on them. Works like a charm and gets the weapon clean as hell, but it absolutely destroys blueing.

I use bright bore and CLP. Never had any issues with either.

The rifles aren't blued. It's a phosphate finish.

The finish is worn from use, not from the cleaner. The cleaners just strip all the oils out of the metal. You just have to re-oil it.
