Personally I dont belive in it. ESP if it is a chrome linned barrel. Just shoot it about 500 times then clean it.

If its a chrome moly barrel, ie not chromed lined, run a solvent laden patch and then clean patch after every shot the first ten times, then do it after 10 shots for 40 round, then after 30 for the next 100 or so. This is if you want optimum accuracy.
If you are not after accuracy don't worry about break in. If it is chrome lined there is no break in. |

shoot it barrel break is is bs you wont be able to tell .02 cents worth of difrence clean it when you get home

Great guys, thanks for the info. It is a chrome lined bushy barrel so I don't think I'll need to worry about break in. Even the bushmaster website says there is no breakin for chrome lined.

What I said, Just remember you can get more accurate with your rifle by shooting it more, than you will worrying about the loss of accuracy from some lengthy break in procedure. Shoot it and the shoot it some more. I doubt you will ever wear it out |

Great thread timing. I just got my M4 upper back from Bushmaster today with a new 16" barrel on it.
