How do people keep high end foreends clean in field conditions? I'm not in the infantry, but in my army experience I've had to take the handguards off my M16 to get everything really clean after dragging butt through the mudd.

I'll have a DD 9.0 for my midlength soon and I'm wondering if this is a drawback. Thanks!

Good question spookyspiff. I am about to get my first FF foreend for one of my ARs, and as you, was taught to clean UNDER the handguards.

Come on guys, those of you with FF foreends who take care of their weapons, what do you do?

Thanks

Non-chlorinated brake cleaner works well for me.  Just shoot it in there, let it flush out the gunk and whatnot and then let it run out the holes along the sides.  Works for me.
