Gents, I am new to SS barrels.  I have a new 24" varmint RRA with a Wilson SS in .223 Wylde.  Break-in is shoot one and clean, etc.  To make it easier, I am planning to use a "Bore Snake" with some CLP as opposed to a cleaning rod, jig and patches.  Is this procedure OK?  Anything else I should do?TIA

The topic of barrel break-in is always worth a good fight here!!

Sidestepping the contentious issue of its actual value, my personal view is that a bore snake would be pretty much valueless in the process.

IMHO, if you're going to do it, you're going to have to get a one piece cleaning rod, a rod (or bore) guide, a copper solvent and the other related cleaning equipment.  Otherwise you shouldn’t even bother.
