What's the word on these? Good investment? Waste of $8?

If good, is the McFarland the way to go or are there better ones?

Waste of money. If the rifle won't run with the stock rings (in good condition), then you have other problems.  Avoid.

I know a guy who swears by them. Has one in every AR he owns. He loves them for his FA stuff.

Ask Dragracer_Art about his experiences with the McFarland rings. I just don't see a need to fix things that ain't broke!
