I was swabbing out my barrel with a section of cotton material, and it broke off inside on the second pull.  The small piece protruding through the muzzle-brake also tore off.  Like a dumbass, I tried pushing it out from the breech end with a Dewey cleaning rod.  It feels pretty damn compacted now, although I have not attempted to "muscle" it out yet.  Any suggestions?  What about using a metal cleaning rod and a brass jag to tap it out with a hammer?

You won't hurt anything by knocking it out with a hammer and rod. Just go from the breech.

What CATM said, you are not the first one to do it.
