I just bought my first ar a few days ago. I noticed after 400 rounds that the hammer pin had walked out. I read the post on the problem but I didn't have any of the symtoms. I started to disassemble the lower and went to knock out the hammer pin. Only half of it came out.

First, what is the quickest way to get a new one? Order off internet, if so what site do you recomend?

Second, what did I do wrong to break the pin or was it already broken?

I'll just order one from www.olyarms.com I guess I'll get the anti-walk type $6.00 for 2 instead of $2 for the regular ones. Part number ar64. Thank God that I had already printed the parts list and exploded view. I would be totally lost right now. Not to menchion that I wouldn't even know what the part was called.

Done!

Just called olymipic and ordered the 2 anti-walk pins, a field service kit $32, and a sight adjustment tool $6. The field kit has a bunch of parts of which I have no idea what they do or what they are. I guess that was a good idea? Very good customer survice so far.

I don't think so. I was given 7.62X39 when I rented my AR by Kenny. He quickly exchanged it and I went on my way to test drive my new AR. I don't think that I gave anyone any ammo. I did bring 1000 rounds of wolf 7.62 and 100 rounds of remmington .223

Give me more details. I'd like to know what happened.

Were you the guy that had the AK constant extraction problems and the round stuck in the glock barrel?

I'm the one with the brown jacket holding the bad arse m16 with the terrible profile. I had never even touched a rifle much less a fully automatic AR in this pic.

So what happened with the wrong ammo?

Sorry, I read the post incorrectly. At least I think I did. For some reason I thought someone gave YOU the wrong ammo.
