When looking for rails systems earlier I found the common length of the rails to be 7.5 as advertised. But when i removed mine and measured the standard one  I have  is 6 5/8. Im not sure where the damn near extra inch would go. I have an XM-15 E2S 16". I dont see how the part uthat goes under the handguard release could be any smaller.

If you are referring to the free-float handguards, the delta ring assembly (what you call the handguard release) is removed and discarded.

I never knew that was called the Delta ring. We used Knights since I have been in the Military and they fit right into the ring. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, the KAC's that you are familiar with are NON-freefloated, hence they use the original delta ring to hold them in place.

Thanks. After 2 years of being an armorer for 101 among others I never knew that.
