Are you using a crush washer, lock washer or peel washer?
Mike ETA - most use a "crush-washer" and it's tighten, loosen, re-tighten, loosen re-tighten type installation, until the bottom is centered on the bottom. |

The flash hider threads are 28 TPI, 0.0357 inches. If the FH is not indexing by 180 degrees that means it is off by 1/2 of 28 TPI or 1/2 of 0.0357. Take 0.0175 off of the rear of the FH with a lathe and it will now index correctly. The 0.0002 or 0.0003 difference will allow for 'crush'. Charles the Gunsmith.
