It's not uncommon for the hammer spring to get installed backwards so the force on the hammer is unwinding the spring instead of winding the spring tighter.
I found this on an M16 fresh out of the case, with an armorer's tag still on it once. The legs of the spring should also be installed up over the trigger pin, not down on the bottom of the receiver. |

Oh, come on, now you expect me to read the tacked threads too? I'm baffled tonight. I'm sitting here playing with Quickload. It's an internal ballistics program in case you are not familiar. Here's the odd thing. Several AR-15 cartridges I designed, but never fully developed, are listed in there, with dimensions and everything. 357 Rimless, 416x39 and 357 Auto I think Marty did it as he talks directly with the developer of the program... |
