Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Colt 6450 Dust Cover

Hi, I just purchased a Colt 6450 9mm AR-15 rifle. The dust cover seems to be tight against the large brass deflector. In fact, it will catch and not close. Anyone else have this issue and ideas? Thanks.

is the rear portion of the ejection port cover (the endge that is hitting the BD) Parkerized or white?

is the ejection port cover hinge pin bent?

The ejection port cover is parkerized and the hinge pin is not bent. This is my first 6450. It looks like Colt cuts the ejection port cover to accomodate for the large brass deflector and made the tolerances too tight. Here is a picture.

is there any flash on the BD or any sign of a high spot?

COLT has a lifetime warranty, got a COLT repair  station nearby?
