How often should the cam pin be replaced?  Mine shows some indents where it rides in the carrier.  I figure I've got 5K or so in this upper.  Should I replace the pin or not worry about it?

Every one of mine has/shows wear marks where they contacts the carriers.  Unless it's deeply pitted, or shows signs of cracking, it doesn't need replacing.

It is an inexpensive part. Replacement will not hurt and will put your mind at ease. After 5000 rds. if you haven't already, now would be a good time to inspect everything. The extractor pin is something else to keep an eye on. I found a couple that were well worn. Looked like an hourglass. Must have been soft.
