I just acquired a Colt Pre-ban 5620 Govt. Carbine 16", A2 sights:

When trying to zero windage starting with small rear sight aperature on center mark, in order to zero at 25 yards I have to click 8 clicks to the right (clockwise).

The gun has not been fired until today , unless by Colt. Everything appears to be tight, no scratches , dings on barrel or front sight.

Question:

1. Should I be concerned about the 8 clicks?
2. Is there an "allowable" specification number of clicks deviating from center windage mark?
3. What if anything should I check?

Windage is fine at 50 meters and 100 with the 8 clicks.

She is zeroed for 200 meters, elevation right on at 50

Thanks for your assistance.

The rifle is within spec.

If you switch to another type of ammo, the windage may change, and the rifle may be closer to dead center when zeroed.
