Elvis-Ar15, I have a trick I would like you to try.
Start with a loaded mag inserted into the mag well, then insert a folded piece of paper into the back of the well in between the mag and the well. This will cant the mag forward and the front up. Try this for a mag and see if the mag feeds for the whole mag.
If it does, then the mag is loose in the well and the mag catch button needs to be tightened. Also, the stock mag angle and feed ramps may be out of alinement and/or the ammo your using is not compatible.
If the trick doesn't work, and the bolt starts riding over the top round, the mag catch button may be milled too low, or the rifle may be short strocking and causing the jam.
But chances are that the height, of the mag when locked, to the feed lips is off. Check the upper just below the feed ramps for a indentation. If this is the case, there is a mod that you can have done to increase the angle of the ramps. This allows a wider range of ammo to be used in the rifle.
I had the same problem with a CAR that I was trying to run Wolf HP ammo threw. The forth round during a burst would stick the upper just below the ramp. The paper trick allowed me to band-aid to stop the jams, but the correct cure was to lower the ramps. Also, only the HP was jamming the rifle, So I could of just switch ammo, but chose to modify the upper to allow the hp to used in the future.
Look up M-4 upper mods/ feed ramp mods.

P.S. Welcome to the world of AR tuning.
As most of use have stated, our rifles will eat anything that is put down the chamber. But we have worked the rifles over to allow this to happen.
