Had the 6.8 built last year with an ASA side charger but it was not liking the barrel's feed ramps and had some feeding issues with anything but FMJ. Also my I built the 9mm on a CMMG upper with the goofy polymer panels and I had an OOB blow them off first range trip... bleh.
The before pics
So I got a Rainier upper and raptor from Primary Arms during their father's day sale and did the switch last night.
New Spec's
Valley Armory 6.8 marked lower
SSA-E
CMMG LPK
Ace skeleton stock
MOE+
Rainier upper
BHW 18" barrel
PRS 6.8 brake
Rainier raptor CH
ASA Stainless carrier
Noveske 6.8 bolt
Lancer Carbon fiber CH
Wilson 6.8 dust cover
Primary Arms 1-4x24 in their mount, works well enough for now.
With the 9mm I stopped by a local machine shop and they were able to notch my 9mm bolt for the ASA upper in about 15 minutes while I waited. I know gas blowback and side chargers aren't the best mix but fuck it, I'm gonna try it.
