Been sitting and waiting for me to tackle it. It's kryptek but I also burnished each color after it flashed for a distressed look.
I think it turned out pretty decent. Now to do all the small parts and get to assembling it!

Step by step as far as the cerakote?
Basically, laid a base color. Then mixed up 8 different shades using FDE, OD Green, Coyote Tan and white just to lighten the colors.
After the base coat, used an airbrush to spray patches of the various colors. After each color the parts had to be flashed in the oven for 15 minutes at 180.
Once all the base colors were flashed, laid out my stencils (that I make) and started going in reverse with the same colors until I ended with the original first base color.
After the last color was applied and flashed for 15 minutes I used 0000 steel wool to burnish the edges and various areas to give it a distressed look. Blew it all off and baked in the oven for 1.5 hours at 250.

I have some there but be careful which ones you get. Mine are high heat and leave no glue residue!

Says he makes his own stencil and by the looks he's quite good at it. The $10 eBay ones and others I've found will not replicate this look as they tend to narrow down in the middle and have much smaller patterns

Withtout a ffl, the price is 0. Its illegal to work on serial firearm parts without one. Why places like retroarmsworks.com and other posters on the site dont touch anything with a serial number....

Technically you can't work on any gun parts without a FFL. I do my own stuff at home but I also do it on sight for my FFL. He sent up some space to do cerakoting so legally I can work on guns and parts on location.

That is an AWESOME job!!!! Have you sent pics to CMT? I know they would love to see it.

Yep, CMT featured it on their FB page for awhile. They are also interested in some of my stippled UC grips with their logo on them.
