I have an Aero Precision lower which is very tight in the mag well. I have Gen 2 & 3 Pmags, Troy Battle mags, Tango Down, Surefire 60 and GI metal mags.
The only one's that will sort of fall free are the Gen 3 Pmags. The Black Dog 22LR mags drop perfectly.
The 20 round Pmags are really tight to both insert and remove.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I hope its not ALL of the Aeroprecision lowers... I just bought one! From the reviews I've seen though, only a very small fraction mention tight mags.

check to see if gi issue steel mags will drop free, remember these are milspec receivers, if a gi issue mag won't drop free, give them a call adn see if they can do a replacement, the magwell might be out of spec

Try loosening the mag catch button one turn.

If that doesn't help, please contact customer service for a UPS call tag so we can inspect it. They can be reached M-F, 0600-1500 Pacific time, at 253-272-8188 or by e-mail: [email protected]

This is the type of response I like to see.  Aero Precision products are now on my radar when shopping for parts.

If rhe loosening of the mag catch doesn't work....call them. They are a good company and have good CS.

And a sense of humor. Some of the best regular ol, recievers out there IMO.

ETA: they have a good sense of humor also.

My first and only build was using an Aero Precision lower, it was prefect.  All  the 20 and 30 round magazines I had worked fine.

If your mags are Steel they are not "gi issue"

Most of my 12 builds have been with Aero Precision uppers and lowers. I have been ABSOLUTELY impressed with everything I have received from them - blem or otherwise.

Speaking of a sense of humor.  You should check out their "special" lowers.  One has "pew" for fire and "pew, pew, pew" for full auto.  And the other is entire engraved to make fun if the Cali guy who talked about a .30 cal ghost gun ar that unloads a 30rd "clip" in half a sec.  Pretty funny stuff.

I have one of Aero's lowers. Good stuff. Got it for $70 on sale from primary arms. I like the extra step of machining the rear detent hole. Not the biggest fan of company logos on the side, but at least theirs is streamlined.

The ghost gun is funny, does anyone have a link to the thread?

Love my Aero lower except what I had to pay for it.  I'm in CT and had to jump on one after the Newtown shooting.  Wish I could get another but times up here in CT.

I'd like to say that I bought an upper and lower and I couldn't be happier with the end product.  Great product and the company ships very quickly.  Overall nice company to deal with.

Hi,
The guy I bought it off is going to replace it.
I am sure that Aero Precision would look after me but as I live in New Zealand I am sure there would be all
sorts of paperwork drama involved on both sides of the Pacific.

Cheers for all the input.

My buddy had exact same issue. Gi mags wouldn't even drop. He contacted them there were awesome and said send it right in. He was too lazy and took a file to the inside. It worked, all mags drop free with a little filing but I would have sent it in.

I have 2.  I like them better than my Spikes.  No problem with any mags.

I got my Ghost Gun lower today. Drops 5.56 mags fine. Can't wait to test it with a 30 caliber clip:)

Question:

Was it by any chance built with a Stag Arms LPK?

I built an Aero lower with a Stag Arms LPK and had the exact same problem. Only replacing the magazine catch fixed the problem.

Watch this youtube video of a Senator making a complete jackass out of himself and then go back to the link above and check out Aero's new lower receiver they just came out with. It will all make sense.

I used a CMMG lower parts kit. I have used them on all my builds.

I would replace the magazine catch. I just took one from my M&P 15 and it dropped mags perfectly.

Try Emags.  It's my understanding that they fit better in snug mag wells.
