I was just looking for a rock solid answer from someone..... After I Cerakote, can I color fill without ruining the Cerakote finish?

Also If anybody can recommend a GTG company to pay to do it or just do it myself?

Thanx

Yes you can. Here's one I did in Burnt Bronze w/ Graphite Black for the letters.

It can be done fairly easily. I used black lacquer sticks I purchased from Brownells to color fill my receiver markings.

1. Degrease the work area twice.
2. Heat the area with a heat gun.
3. Smear the melted end of the lacquer stick into the work area.
4. Continue to heat the lacquer so it liquifies and settles in the low spots.
5. Allow to cool.
6. Wipe the area with a rag pulled tightly against a flat block with mineral spirits on it.
7. Carefully wipe the surfaces with clean rags until the lacquer disappears
8. Allow several days before you handle the area roughly.

That's slick! How long does it take to cool and settle?

Thanks. It cools within 15 minutes or so. However it takes a few days for the durability to improve.

Yep, use cerakote. I did an OD green rifle with everything else in black including the lettering using black cerakote
after the primary color was done. stuck VERY well.
