I started collecting parts for my wife and daughter's ARs back before that (last) panic set in. They were getting pretty handy with their 15-22's, so I figured it was time to "graduate" to their own, "real" ARs. Parts collecting was pretty rough for a while, but today I finally finished both guns!
I present to you, The Twins (Lite)!
My wife is 5'6" and 125lbs and the kiddo is 5'3" and 96lbs soaking wet, so the point was to keep them pretty light, but I didn't want to sacrifice quality or ruggedness. Here's the breakdown (They are identical except for the color. The wife's is the Tungsten colored one.):
Spike's Lowers
PSA "MOE" LPKs
Swapped for the K grips
ALG ACT Triggers
BAD-ASSes
BCM mil-spec stock kits
Magpul CTR stocks
Spike's M4 Uppers
Spike's 14.5" Mid-length Pencil Barrels
BCM Mod 1 Comps (pinned/welded by ADCO)
Syrac Ordnance adjustable gas blocks
11" Troy Alpha Rails
BCM Mod 4 Gunfighters
Semi-auto BCGs (lighter weight than full-auto BCGs)
MBUS sights
I also pirated the PA MicroDots and Larue mounts from their 15-22s until I get something else. I did a few other little things, like Spike's/Seekins billet mag release buttons, Armalite bolt catches, matching (Punisher and Calico Jack) dust covers, Cerakote, color-fill, etc.
As an interesting side note: I've built a bunch of ARs for friends and family, but these are #13 and #14 for "personal" builds.
