trying to get started on building my first ar and was wondering if there is any restriction i need for lowers in ca or could i just get any lower. been searching around and finally wanted to post and ask the question any one got any ideas or pics of ca built ar's

I think there is a list of approved lowers or something  like that. Asking this over in the California section under the Hometown forum above should yield better answers.

Being in CA, I just went through this.......As long as the lower has a mag eject button that needs a tool....aka bullet tip etc., It's legal. I got a LMT lower from Turners and bought a Rock River upper......also keep that mag at 10. Basically CA = 16" = or + barrel, < or = to 10 rd mag and mag release that needs a tool.

thanks for info: and i just stop doing service calls in the oc too would have stopped by well the guys on my old oc team cant fix a a/c good sure ill be back around there lol and will also post in the ca forum also.

The only restrictions we really have in our lame state is the bullet button and 10 round magazines. unless you want to run a monster man grip you can use a standard mag release.

just trying to build one to go out and shoot with some other guys. i just wanted to see if there was a certian lower i needed to have in ca or not. beed reading and watching alot of posts on youtube

You also need an Off List Lower.

OP, go to the California HTF here and Cal Guns for the info you need.

There is a list of receivers/rifles banned by name. You can not use one of the banned named receivers to a post ban ca. build.
