I'm doing a long range build and need recommendations for a good economical sub MOA barrel that doesn't cost a fortune. I'm using a POF P-14SX rail and I will have 14" of rail on the barrel so I was thinking of a 20" with a rifle length gas block. I would like to keep the weight down a much as possible. Any thoughts on brands or contours would be appreciated.
Thanks

You can get a Wilson 20" stainless 1:8 HBAR with target crown from model1 for under $250; but I would suggest you call Woody at Lothar Walther, and ask him what has that will meet your needs.

The one I have on my 'to buy' list to finish my build is the DPMS 18" blackened stainless barrel. $179 from Midway USA and has the rifle length gas system. Lot of good reviews on it.

I just got done building a couple of DPMS style .308's and most of the people I heard from that wanted an accurate barrel said they were using the DPMS barrels as tent stakes and they bought barrels from other manufactures, W/L, WOE, Lilja, ect.
Just repeating what I heard on the forums.....

yeah but lilja, L/W are not generally used in the same sentance as "economical". My DPMS barrel was sub-MOA, I wouldn't hesitate to use one on one of my guns if money was a consideration, particularly at that price.
Also take a huge grain of salt with what you read online. IMO 90% of the crap you read online is from shills or people repeating what some shill wrote somewhere online.

I was looking at the Black Hole barrels but the wait time is up to 12 weeks and I wanted to get this done.  To many projects in the works.  Walter Lothar might have some in stock, I'll check the website when I get back from work in the morning.
Thanks to all for the suggestions. What do you guys think of the CMMG barrels?  Anyone know who make them?

I did a DPMS MK-12 barrel build here... Its 416 Blk SS with 1/8 Twist and 18".

DPMS MK12 Build w/pics

The barrel is HBAR (heavy) profile and weighs about 2.6 lbs..

The complete rifle with a 3-9x40 scope mounted up is about 9 1/2 lbs.

Heres a pic without the scope on it..

and one with the scope mounted.. (later moved up some to get to the CH  )

Doesn't look like W/L has any in stock and they are real expensive. BCM has some listed at "BCM 20" SAM-R SS410 Barrel with Rifle Length Gas" for $359 on sale regularly $435.00, anyone know  who makes there barrels for them?
DPMS price is very tempting and it sounds like they are good shooters.
Hard to decide but I'm going to have to pull the trigger on one here this week.

Also look at Rainier Arms and ballistic advantage

I have been eyeing a core15 barrel but haven't found any reviews.

Just got back from Rainier Arms where I bought a Troy TRX Extreme 13.8 battlerail and a YHM folding sights for my last 22" POF .308 build.  I looked at their AR15 barrels but they are pretty pricey for the SS SPR's.
I appreciate all of the input that I'm getting.
Thanks

i missed out on the black hole deal surplus ammo had.  so i got a mark 12.  Waiting for my comp and optics to come in.  I may have to just put some flip ups on it to get some range time.

White Oak's 18" spr barrel is a great deal. Mine is shooting sub moa and cost less than 300.

I picked up the DPMS MK12 teflon coated barrel for $165 on the EE. Very accurate all the times I have used it. It has rifle gas system and I put a rifle length rail on it as well. Pretty badass looking with a cut down lo pro A2 gas block.

Here's a picture of what I'm currently working on, the top two are .308's and the bottom one is the AR15 I need a barrel for.  I need to find a good reasonably priced scope for the top 22" 308 and I'll need another one for the bottom 5.56, it seems like a lot of the scopes I see are running over $1000 and I just can't afford that much.  But, barrel first and then the glass
