Just wrapped up my first build. I read dozens of threads here as I went through the process and got some great advice. So here is the finished product with pictures and specs. Also had a few questions:

- Any particular case that's well regarded for taking the AR to and from the range? I already have a multi pistol starlight case but I can't afford a larger Pelican/Starlight/etc.
- Any issue's with using Tula ammo just to have some fun with at the range?
- I don't have much to compare it to, and I know some play is to be expected, but there seems to be some slack between the upper and lower. Any way to reduce this, or would that be detrimental?
- I've seen some logo's on the right side of peoples lower receivers. I realize many of these are laser engravings, but how about some not-cheap stickers? I'm thinking a Gadsden flag or something.

I like it.  With the exception of that giant red spider (alien face?) on the mag-well it looks fine.  That is simply my preference speaking there.

Walmart had some nice cases made by Plano for sale recently but they may be too short for your rifle.  If I collapse my M4's stock I can fit it in the one they sold.

I don't think that the upper/lower play is a big deal if not too excessive.  Look into the Accu-Wedge.

Others can hopefully give you better and more info soon.

Great looking gun!

I know it's not really fancy like some of the other cases available out there, but a friend of mine gave me this one a while back and it's been great. It's made pretty well and has plenty of space for mags and other items.  They also make a 36" one.

Get rid of the cheap VFG.  I have that one, its junk. A little play is no problem, but I use an accuwedge.

For cases, I like the cases from Condor Outdoor.

36" Case

42" Case

They also make double rifle cases.  I have a single rifle case, and it is well padded.  It has a large pocket, and 3 attachment bags (2 magazines and one small bag).  I'll post pictures in a minute.  Great for the grab and go for hunting or the range.

The case is zippered with heavy duty zippers, there is a sling to carry the case, and the rifle is velcro'd in to place.  Not a bad case.

Thanks for the compliments. I should have mentioned I'm looking for a hard case. I bought a hard Palco case when I ordered my parts and it's nice but unfortunately my AR with the scope attached won't fit in.

Mtnmymag, what's wrong with my forend grip? I realize Promag isn't know for high end parts, but for a simple grip this one seems to function well and as far as I could determine it has good reviews. What would you recommend and why?

Great Build.  Nice Quality.  I am building a BCM.  Where did you get a BCM Upper by itself?

+1 on the accuwedge. as for the hard case you can get a two gun case with eggshell foam lining for around 20 dollars at walmart or k mart. ive had mine in one for years dropped it knocked it over been stepped on rode hard and put up wet.... rifle is still 100%

Dont support promag maybe theyll go out of business soon, and stop using up metal that could be going to make good mags.
