Hey guys quick question, sorry if this is a dumb question. Can a left handed AR-15 be built from a standard stripped lower?

Yes. You'll probably want to add in an ambi safety selector and mag release to make it TRULY lefty friendly.

But the lefty uppers will go on any standard lower.

ya, that all the left handed guns use...like stag uses the same lower as right and left handed and then just put ambi controlls in
