Are there any special tricks on installing this on the barrel?  I understand how it goes, but does it go better with the barrel in a barrel vise, so it is stable, so you can use both hands to put the pins in?  Thanks.

I usually stand it up on the butt and get the wife or one of the kids to hold the thing in place so I can hold the punch and hammer.  Put one pin in place before you even put it on the rifle to make it easier.
