See the little hole on the floorplate? Stick a small screwdriver, or better, the AR-15 Universal Tool in that hole and...
What? You don't have an AR-15 Universal Tool? You don't know what that is?
OK, go down to the hardware store and buy a Stanley Nail Set, the small one. This is the AR-15 Universal Tool. It is used to:
Adjust front sight
Push in the detent to swing down the trigger guard
Push out hammer and trigger pins. Position the UT and rap the end with the handle end of a screwdriver.
Push out Firing Pin Retainer
Push out Extractor Pin
Remove magazine floorplates
and more!
OK, stick the end of your AR-15 Universal Tool into that hole and lightly flex the floorplat up just enough so those little locking tabs will clear the edge of the magazine. Slide the floorplate off. The spring will pop out. Grab the spring and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle while you pull it out. When you get to the follower, roll it over slightly onto its side and it will wiggle out.
Reasembly, reverse process.
