I routinely use a cold blueing solution for touching up steel parts as needed with good results. Is there an equvilent product for aluminum parts like AR15 receivers? Or does everyone resort to a black sharpie like i have seen some use?

I've had decent luck with the Birchwood Casey Super Black instant touch up pen.

Birchwood Casey also has Aluminum Black. I have not seen it in pen form, but if you get the small bottle just use a Q-Tip to apply it. The repairs I have seen look pretty good.

I use a black Sharpie marker.  No, I'm not joking and it blends in well with a little buffing.

Assuming we're talking about 'black' .... after degreasing, just use a bit of flat black Krylon.
