Quoted: I looked at your diagram. Just looking at the dimensions tells me nothing. Could you explain them please.
Can 223 be converted to the Wylde chamber? |
The accuracy comes mainly from two things about the chamber.
#1 How well the throat is centered in the bore
#2 How well the bullets fit the throat.
Every dimension behind the throat is just to make clearance for the case.
Not much accuracy differences in the way the case fits the chamber as long as the case puts the bullet where it needs to be in the throat.
As for 223 (saami) vs 223 Wylde, the 223 Wylde is bigger in most case dimensions than 5.56 nato.
There's LOTS of room for the case to move around.
The thing that makes the Wylde one of the best chamberings is the loose body combined with the tight throat.
This gives you both the reliability (loose body dimensions) and accuracy (tight throat dimensions).
A 223 Wylde reamer will clean out a 223 Saami chamber.
