What's the lightest non-synthetic, non-NFA, AR RIFLE that you have built.  I built my truck gun that comes in at 7.5 lbs with a full 30 rd magazine.

WOOHOOOOO!! POST NUMBER 69

I built one with a flat-top, slab-side (no forward assist) upper and a Bushmaster "Super-light" 16" barrel. With a TA31F ACOG and a twenty-rounder, it weighs 6 1/2 pounds on my digital bathroom scale. (Although I wouldn't bet my life on it's accuracy.)

You can easily get 6# if you use a really light barrel and an M4 style stock...

my idea: Bushy CAR HGs (black HS), 14.5in pencil bbl w/ perm phantom, A1 upper (a tad lighter than A3 i think), CAR stock (4 pos, lighter and more compact than the M4), everything else stock parts

ended up w/ a 14.5in+perm phant govt bbl...its a few ounces heavier

The weapon or the scale?

When I'm on the scale, I hope it's not accurate.

When I'm shooting the weapon, I can't understand why it's not accurate.

Why not get a Cavalry Arms lower

You can get them from DSG for $145 with the lower parts kit.

I built a Cav arms lower with an A2 upper receiver and a bushmaster Super light weight 16" barrel and came in around 6 lbs. The Cav is one sturdy lower, I didn't think I'd like it at first but it's good quality and functions great. Check out the Cavalry Arms forum for more info on light weight rifles.
