I am looking at my first build and am trying to sort out all of the options.  I want the option of using iron sights and/or mounting a scope/red-dot.  Is it best to go with a flat top, and if so, what do I do for iron sights?  Or do I go with a detachable carry handle?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Check out the optics forum for an idea of what's out there. Flat top uppers are the most popular for mounting optics, I have both flat top and carry handle mounted versions.
